Class Expectations

 Dear Parents and Seventh Graders,

 I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to junior high and wish you the very best as we begin the new school year.  Junior high can be an exciting as well as a challenging time.  You can look forward to a year of growth as an unique individual. 

Throughout the year, we will explore our country’s history from the Revolutionary times through Civil War Reconstruction.  Interwoven within our heritage is the story of many people who have impacted our identity.  Some of the characters you will meet are historical fiction, while others are firmly rooted in historical reality.  Through reading and a variety of activities and assignments, we will work together to interpret and understand values that are important for a lifetime.

 As our year together begins, I encourage you to be an open, active learner possessing the responsibility for your own learning.  As for my part, I will strive to create an open, stimulating learning environment.  I look forward to getting to know each one of you as we start our journey together!
