Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei: Duty to God is an important component of Cub Scouts. Boys can earn these two Catholic religious medals during their years in Cub Scouts. Wolfs earn the Light Of Christ and Webelos earn the Parvuli Dei. Our Religious Coordinator, Janet Lees, schedules five classes for the boys to attend starting in October and completing in November. The awards are presented to the Scouts at Scout Sunday in February. Scouts are responsible to pay for the program books and religious medals earned.
National Summertime Award: Boys earn this award by attending three summertime activities. Boys must attend Scout and Mountain Men Rendezvous/June Outing and bus tables at the Festival Chicken Dinner. The third required activity is to attend Cub World or Whitewater Day Camp. Scouts receive their award at the September Pack Meeting.
World Conservation Award: This award can only be earned once during their years in Cub Scouts. Scouts are required to attend 75% of the weekly Kelhoffer Garden clean-ups during the summer. Each rank has required achievements they must complete in addition to the Kelhoffer Garden clean-up requirement. Achievements that must be completed to receive the World Conservation Award can be found in the appropriate Scout handbook for their rank. This award is presented to the Scout at the Blue and Gold Banquet. A copy of the form with requirements for each rank can be found on page 11 in “Forms”. This form is completed by the Awards Chairman.
