SNACKS AND SUCH

Graham Cracker Sandwiches

Spread peanut butter, fat free cream cheese, or fat free cool whip on two graham cracker squares.  Add jam or jelly, raisins, or sunflower seeds (as you like).  Put the top on the “sandwich” and enjoy!

Egg Sailboats

Hard boil some eggs and slice them in half.  Take out the yolk or leave it in (as you like).  Use a small slice of cheese as the “sail” and thread it onto a tooth pick or a pretzel stick. Put it onto a “sea” of lettuce and eat.

Fruit and Cheese Kabobs

Cut up melon, apples, bananas, or other fruit you like.  Or use grapes or tangerine sections.  Cut your favorite cheeses into cubes.  Now thread them onto a toothpick or skewer.  You could use yogurt as a dip if you choose to.

Decorated Open-Faced Sandwiches

Use cookie cutters to cut out pieces of bread.  Spread with your favorite spread (peanut butter, margarine, mayonnaise, whatever you like).  Then decorate them with raisins, peanuts, pieces of fruits or vegetables, seeds, etc.

Do-It-Yourself Granola

Use any combination of the following:  sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, peanuts, raisins, craisins, chopped dates,

M & M’s.  Mix them together in a big bowl and store in an air-tight container.  Use as a snack to keep you going between meals.
